Hi, Anyone know what would give me best dvd pq quality:

1. samsung 850/ or toshiba's HDMI equiped dvd players

or

2. Pioneer 575 using component?

I have a 32" LCD tv...

Everyone here raves about 575's component being great value for money...but would HDMI beat it?

Thanks,

Gary.

There's only really one way to find the definitive answer to that one (to your eyes) and that's to test them all with your own display.

I've seen the samsungs hdmi model in currys - not sure if they had it set up properly tho, but thought my Toshiba 150e via progressive scan looked better...

I've tried a Samsung 745 via DVI and the Pioneer 575 via component was superior to that...PJ

Yeah I have a feeling the 575 component might be slightly better.

Might chance my arm and grab one then... never used component before, so might as well try it lol :)

The 575 through component, with progressive turned on, is an excellent machine. However, I still say that pibworth needs to see it for himself before making up his mind.
