    Hi Folks,

recently bought a HD player and I am currently running it at 1080i on component but I am wondering whether to invest into a HDMI-DVI-D cable as my projector doesnt have an HDMI in and it will need to be 10m Long.

Will there be a noticiable difference in quaility or should I stick to component?

also how do you run 1080p?? is it down to a digital cable or is the HD-A1 not capable?

    regards

    Neil

The Sky HD/Pioneer HDMI issue has caused a number of people to switch from the Sky supplied HDMI lead to Component for HD and opinions seem to be divided as to which is best.

Given that you'd have to add an extra adaptor, I'd be surprised if you get a significant quality increase using HDMI.

One factor to consider is how good your component lead is. 10m is quite long for an HDMI lead, HDMI has no error correction so any bits lost due to a poor quality cable can be noticeable - cable quality is more important over longer lengths.
