HDMI to DVI for monitor connection?

Standard Member
I have recently upgraded my PC.

I have a NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT video card and have just got a Samsung Syncmaster 22in widescreen monitor.

I wanted to connect the new monitor to one output and my old 17in flat screen to another so that I could watch TV on the 22in whilst working on the other by extending my desktop.

I have hit a snag. The video card has a DVI output, but the second is a HDMI output and an S connection

Would I be able to get a HDMI to DVI lead to connect the 22 inch and then connect the old monitor to the DVI output, and would this set up work?

Thanks in advance.
