    I connect the HDMI output from an Humax PR-HD 1000 STB ( HiDef receiver) > Moome’s device ( DVI/COMPONENT TO VGA TRANSCODER ) > BG 1209s port 5.
The picture H size, even its set to 99% is not utilizing the all screen (I need another 20% in order to fill the screen).
The H size problem appears at both HDMI output resolutions - 720P or 1080i. The V size is OK.

BTW - No problem when connecting the DVI( via Moome’s device) or the VGA output from an HTPC to the PJ at any resolutions from 800 X 600 until 1920 X 1080.

Any Idea how to increase the picture’s H size when using the Humax STB as the source.

    Thanks,

    Rittberg

I'm guessing your refresh rate is 50Hz not 60Hz

It's standard problem with HDMI timings. Stupid porches for 50Hz, whilst everything else, 60Hz and computer style res, is fine.

There is a solution, but costs money: buy a HD scaler which can redo the timings to something sensible. Lumagen and Crystallio.

What about the P2 on the SMPS sub board ?
Is it not dangerous when it is ok for the PC source ?

It's not something I would do. The timings for 50Hz HD are clearly a complete cock-up and therein lies the problem, not with the PJ.

The C2 scaler nails the problem perfectly, and I'm sure Lumagen could as well.
Do you feel like throwing money at it?

Basically I am using an HTPC, I am waiting that the new DVS-S2 card will arrive, hopping to be able to watch fluently the HiDef MPEG4/H264 channels. In this case the H size will be solved.
