HDMI Switcher

Active Member

I'm looking to get it and it's got some decent specs for £49.99 like HDMI 1.3 and I like the HDMI ATC lab endorsement though at £49.99 it sounds to good to be true.

Product Features

* The only HDMI switch box to be approved by HDMI ATC lab
* Fully supports 1080P HDTV
* HDCP Compliant
* Supports DTS, Dolby 7.1 Channel Audio
* 21 HDMI source input

I'm not sure what they mean by Supports DTS, Dolby 7.1 Channel Audio in the spec listing when I was under the impression that HDMI cannot carry these signals just bog-standard PCM stereo :confused:

What does 16 HDMI source input mean :confused:

Have you seen this :

An alternative I'm told is very good. You need to have a look at the specs to make sure :smashin:

I think hdmi 1.3 allows for uncompressed pcm 24bit/96Hz 7.1 soundtracks as long as you have hdmi1.3 at both ends (player and receiver).

It is explained a bit in the latest issue of hcc in their review of the hd-xe1 but I think they could do with a new guide to specs for amps/plamas as each review these days seem to point out factors that are not mentioned on other similar products.
