Hdmi question for marantz sr6003

I am trying to connect an Apple TV to my sr 6003 receiver. It connects with an hdmi cable. I use componet cable to connect the receiver to my tv. I am not getting the video from the Apple TV on my tv, is it because I have to use hdmi to connect the receiver to my tv? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No receiver will downconvert a HDMI input to a component output. Hence you will need HDMI from receiver to TV to get this to work.

thanks psm1-thats what i figured but wanted to make sure before i bought another cable.
