    Hi folks,
A few questions for when sky+ goes HD in 2006.

What would be the best input regarding pq for an SD PW7...
HDMI (will need to buy the board) or component (got free board but would need to buy a good component cable which seems to cost much more than hdmi one), assuming sky offers both options?
If cost was not a consideration, would the answer be different?

I have read posts saying HD on SD plasma can be x10 better than DVD...is the improvement really that good?
My viewing distance is 13ft. Would I notice the pq difference between a 50" HD screen & a 42" SD when both are fed HD content?

Just wondering if I need to start saving for that 50" HD replacement in four/five years time, although will LCD be the better option then?

    Thanks. :)

Don't want much then, just a crystal ball! You will certainly see a difference between a HD50 and an SD 42 now, let alone with HD sources. Why not consider the HD 42 now, and hedge your bets?

    MAW,
In what regard do you mean - you will see a better picture with 50HD vs 42SD?

How much better is a HD plasma against a SD one.

    Thanks

Gotta see it mate Suggest you try your local dealer JOE is in Edinburgh and will be able to show you........ My personal opinion is that HD will be very expensive for first 2-3 years..... So buy 50" HD now and Scaler......... £5k ish complete set-up (Video) starting level 50PHD6/7 + Iscan HD and pay loads for HD content but get incredible results....
OR £2k on an SD unit NOW and in 2009 buy a 50"+ 1920x1080 panel for same £2k?
Crystal ball a bit foggy today ;)

It's definitely better now, as horny says you have one of the best guys to show you just up the road from you, www.tmfsolutions.co.uk he will set you straight, show you what can be achieved. A picture is worth a thousand words, they say, so go see one.
