hdmi on cambridge audio 340

just a quick one can i use the hdmi sockets on this for 5.1 sound or do i need a fiber optic cable? thanks

On all of the current CA range of HDMI equipped amps, the HDMI is for passthrough, i.e. a switch only, therefore you will also require an additional digitla audio cable (coax/optical).

Thank you that,that being the case as my tv has enough hdmi inputs that i need i dont see the point in having the 340 i think i will see if i can get a good deal on a 540
