I was on the verge of buying a Denon 2910 or 3910 as a great future proof design when I learned that, although the Denons are 'HDMI multichannel audio equipped' they will output multi channel DVD-Audio but NOT SACD via the HDMI. Supposedly a licensing issue.

    So, can anyone tell me:

Is the licensing issue likely to be sorted out soon? and

Can the 2910 or 3910 be updated via firmware to accomodate this if it happens?

I can't possibly buy a Denon as a future proof player and then find out that in less than a year Denon has a 3920 out with a properly resolved HDMI output.

The Denon link on the 3910 is no good to me as most of the future AV gear I will buy won't mate with it.

    Can anyone help?

Wonder if sony doesnt want to pay for the licensing or something like that.
