HDMI cable upgrade

Hi,

John Lewis was trying sell me some £40 HDMI cables yesterday saying it would fix a flicker issue I've had but I couldn't see it helping as it was a Funnt type of LED flicker rather than a image flicker. All my HDMI are already high speed cables. But not as pricy as these monsters.

Any way yesterday on my return home I pulled out all cables out of tv turned everything off at the main for a good hour. Did a services factory reset on the to then set everything up again. So far all seems good.

Only one thing I notice but never noticed before. Is when changing sky channels that blue screen appears it some time flicks only once sometimes it doesn't. Is this normal?

Currys are scummy when it comes to ripping you off on cables not required, but I didn't think JL's reputation would be at is as well !!
Your high speed cables should be fine, aa long as there not damaged

Below 5 metres if there is a cable problem then the cable is faulty, you don't need to spend a lot.
Above 7 metres cable performance can cause problems e.g. 'sparkles'.
As TwoJs said, a cable marked "High Speed" will do the job, ignore any rubbish about HDMI versions as they don't apply to cables but to the electronics in equipment.
