    Hi all,

Connecting an hdmi capable dvd to a similarly equipped projector, I have the option of where to locate the dvd from two places. However, the position of the projector and amplifier are fixed due to outside influences.

The question is, do I position the dvd next to the amp and run a 15m hdmi to the proj and a 1m dig coax to the amp, or do I position it below the projector and run a 1m hdmi and a 15m digital coax back to the amp?

I am trying to bear in mind the cost of a 15m hdmi cable vs the cost of a similar length digital coax here too.

    cheers guys

    Hi Michael,

That's a very good point and the reason I would go with a short HDMI with a long coaxial.

For such a length you would be much better off with an optical cable, they can be very long but still be relatively cheap. They also have the advantage of being much thinner than coaxial cable
