Folks - first weekend to have a good play with my new 436XDE.

I have the media box underneath connected to my amp via optical, and when I view Sky, inbuilt Freeview through the media box, I get audio out of the Yamaha DSP-A1 amp.

Have borrowed a Toshiba HDMI equipped DVD player, plugged that into the inputs on media box and turn it on to view.

Picture comes up (US Revenge OF The Sith looks very nice) but no audio comes out.

Stop player, go into setup and audio options are either PCM or BITSTREAM - try it with either and still get no sound.

I have been into the menus on the TV but try as I might I can not see an option for "Sound Via HDMI Yes / No" or anything that could help.

Thought HDMI carried the audio also, the Pioneer book says it should, I have plugged same cable / DVD player into my 26" Samsung LCD and it works then - so thing cable OK.

    Ideas anyone?
