    Hi All ,

I'm looking to introduce a 5.1/7.1 surround sound system with my PS3 & Samsung 32" HD TV. And i'd ideally like to do this via 2xHDMI cables.

    PS3 -hdmi-> Surround Sound -hdmi-> HDTV.

I'd literally like to use the surround sound as a slave unit.
Therefore, the appropriate surround system requires HDMI inputs + outputs to complete this, thus allowing High Definition vision and sound.

The system doesn't necessarily need to have DVD playback as the PS3 covers this.

Can anyone advise or recommend of an appropriate system to do this with?
Or any alternative methods to enable the HD surround + vision?

    Cheers.:smashin:

i'm also looking at something simular - but i do want a dvd player included as i dont want to abuse the ps3 for dvd playback
i'll also have sky hd which i want to run through it and same as you

    ps3 >hdmi> system> tv
    HDSky>hdmi>

what i dont think you'll find is a 7.1 system, you'd have to go seperates for that

I was just checking one of the other posts; and an idea that was thrown around was the Sony HTSF2000 / HTSF 1200.
Thinking this is probably the best bet at the moment.

Just got to try and find where this is the cheapest now.
Unless there are any better systems around.

The above mentioned amps will do what you want (in 5.1). The 1200 and 2000, they are exactly the same spec wise. But the 2000 is asthetically angled to go with Sony's new BD players.

What you'd also be glad to hear is that these amps support LPCM (HD audio) over HDMI as long as the peripheral does the decoding first (like your PS3 does)

I have a 1200 amp and it's an absolute aural delight. Check out my review/posts/photo's and other useful info HERE

    Hope this helps.
