HDDVD v DVD - Fellowship of Ring comparison

Standard Member
This has been doing the rounds for a long time but it is a nice comparison. This will be from a TV transmission States. When Newline decide to release LOTR on HD-DVD/Blu-Ray (2008?) and Peter Jackson finds time to go through the masses of still unrelesed material, you will find it even better quality. HAving said that, just played Two Towers Extended R2 DVD on the Toshiba HD-E1 and massively impressed with the upconvert quality through HDMI.

I hope when it does come out on HD-DVD it is the extended editions, ( at least) And not the theatrical release... :lease:

It does look like the extended edition on Amazon, but I'm hardly gonna trust them. :D

Let's face it they're only on Amazon so if they do come out they're a bit more likely to get some more pre-orders. The cases are obvious crappy photoshopped EE boxes.
They will release theactrical first then the EE, they will make more money that way unfortunatly.
