Has anyone identified HDDs that are quiet and suitable for HTPCs? I'm looking to upgrade (or add) because the Samsung 80Gb SATA I'm using as the data disk "ticks" all the time (!)

I know that PVRs use "CE" drives but that this may compromise speed etc, does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks

The Samsung Spinpoints are acknowledged as being amongst the quietest. You can also try isolation and silent enclosures to block out the last of that noise if yours is a spinpoint and you don't find it quiet enough.

I have Seagate Barracudas in my system (3 of them) in an Antec Sonata II case, and it's pretty quiet. It is designed to be a quiet case and the drives are mounted on rubber grommits though, so that may be significant.
