HDD HD Camcorder question

    Thinking of getting one of these as they look great.

    One question, can you do minor edits on the camera, and do you have to go through a PC or can you plug an external DVD recorder straight into it.

    I would imagine you cant because of the burning software and so on. It's just a general query really.

    Yes, you can edit on the camcorder - delete clips, split clips (then delete the bit you don't want), etc.

    If you mean by external DVD recorder an external PC drive (e.g. connected by USB), no you can't connect direct to that without a PC. You can connect to a "set top" DVD recorder, but only in SD mode (there aren't yet any high def settop DVD recorders).

    And do these HD camcorders really look HD when played through a good HD telly?

    Yes they look really good... providing the lighting is decent! (Like any camcorder they perform better in decent light... and the high def makes this even more noticable).

    I dont know really. It's just that I did'nt really think that you could get sort of quality from a 1k camcorder.
