Hi, I have just got a new 30" LCD TV and am now looking for something with better quality then VHS to record programs. Most things will be recorded and watched within a few days or weeks, but there will be time when things don't got watched for a few months or I will be recording for friends. I have already got Sky, so the logical choose would be to go for Sky +, but this means that I won't be able to keep things for too long, or lead them to other people, but I suspect I would be able to do this if I also got a DVD recorder. The other option would be to go for one of the new HDD/DVD recorder devices such as the Panasonic HS2 or new 100. Which idea do you think would be better, a HS2 is about £550, so with Sky + at £200 it means if I get a DVD recorder for less than £350 I would be saving. Also what is the compatibility like for DVD recorders (I know about the different types such as + and -), my main concern is that I archive stuff off to lots of disks and when the current recorder breaks or if I upgrade, will it be able to read all my old disks. Ian.
