Sorry for the Newbie question, but my searches haven't come up with a definitive answer to this question:-

I have a Pioneer 504HDE (504PE + R04E media box) bought Xmas 2003 (one of the first in the UK?) which has an HDMI input. Nowhere in the manual or on this site can I find a definitive statement of any HDCP capability, though several threads suggest that it has this.

Can anyone say for definite that this panel and tuner does support HDMI and HDCP and should thus be fully compatible with whatever HD service SKY launch next year?

    Thanks in advance

    Colin

AFAIK not all admi connections support hdcp but the pio 434 does.

    The 434 supports 720p + 1080i @ 50hz

    ukdan,

spec says it does support 1920 x 1080i at 50Hz and 1280 x 720p at 50Hz amongst others. It's the HDCP bit I'm not sure about.

    A quick update:-

I got the following reply from an enquiry to Pioneer:-

I have ordered SkyHD on that basis and have an installation date of May 25th.

I'm obviously hoping that Pioneer were correct, but can give you an definitive answer in just over a month.

(Sorry if this has already been covered in another thread)
