    Yes, yes and yes.
I don't think you can really compare these machines. the denon is superb.
If I'd been able to afford the denon I would have bought that without hesitation.

    In all honesty - no.

I have had a Denon 2910, and while it is a fantastic player, I simply dont think its worth £500.

The picture quality and sound quality are NOT over three times better than what the price would suggest. Yes, the build quality is great and its a fantastic DVD Player, but I would stick with a Samsung 950.

The 950 isn't available yet and looking at the 850 thread you might be better off avoiding it until the reviews start coming in.

it looks like the 950 is going to be exactly the same as the 850 but with dvd-audio and sacd.

950 has DCDI chip and has both DVI/HDMI, while 2910, only HDMI.

I'll expect 2910, sounding way better!

Both if share same DCDI chip might suffer from MB.

UK 950 also do DIVX, 2910, does not.
Both do Pal to Ntsc and are region hackable!

950 is way cheaper and does come with free cables!! 2910..nada!

I own a 850 right now and am very impressed with PQ, esp Pal to Ntsc upscaled is best that I have seen.

Denon should have a more smoother, refined looking image!

Why convert, the 2910 can output PAL & NTSC natively
2910 has both DVI & HDMI
Free Cables !!!- your better off buying decent cable rather than use the crappy ones supplied
