    What is the difference?
    Are they both glass/plastic?
Do they both have the colour filters?

The HD 8 has been around for years and years. Originally the casing was made from aluminium but this suffered from thermal expansion. the revision B was a plastic case.

They have always been a hybrid lens part plastic part glass.

Only the very latest had colour filters these tended to be marked as HD8B Red etc.

These lenses were mostly fitted to the Barco 800,801,808 and 1208 models.
    hope that helps a bit.
