I know there is the other massive thread - but it seems to have gone off topic there :eek:/

Just off the phone to sony - and been advised to not do anything yet, they are awaiting engineers report still to show the solution to the problem. No new buttons have been made, I can send it in for a new set of the existing buttons to be put in but no point.

They are gonna e mail me when the report comes in )

The thread is being kept alive while we await new information on the buttons. It is off topic as nobody had any new information - if you have new information that is more appropriate for the topic, nothing is stopping you to post it in the thread :)

I think it's best for that main thread to go off topic to keep it near the top of the list, then we all know the problem is still there :)

i have the buttons replaced on my unit by sony. the newer buttons are more springy and raised. if i see it from the side, the buttons appear to be more springy and raised. here's some pics. noticed the buttons are raised higher at the 4 vulnerable spots that are prone to cracking.

And it is also best to post new info in the main thread to return it to the top and to topic.

I think it's remarkable it has stayed on topic for about 95% of the thread considering how long it has been going.

Apparently there is...Two people have supplied pictures (on other thread) so far. They are fairly certain that they are new because of the size of the button and the stiffer action of the button. There is a chance that only some of Sony know about it, which is usually the case, just look at sony US, they dont even know that there are such things as cracked buttons, well, refuse to know anyway.
