Hi guys, a couple of questions please.
    1. By a plasma having say 1368 x 768, does that mean it will handle 720p and not 1080i?
    2. How does set top box control work on dvd recorders? Do you have to programe both the recorder and sat box to do this?

    Thanks

The resolution of the plasma does have an effect on picture quality, but little or nothing on the signal compatibility. That's down to on board software, check before buying. Most are fine, but it's possible to step in the poo on this question.

You arenotwithme I'm afraid. Never mind the screen resolution, whether 852x480 or any other resolution, the signals any screen can accept are goverened by other electronics, not the actual pixel count. Just like you can change the resolution on your computer monitor, yet the actual screen remains the same. Scaling and interpolation take care of the translation process.

Depends on the box and recorder, whether they speak the same language. Hard to tell until you try, unless you post in the DVD recorder section for someone with the same components.
