I'm slightly annoyed when the BBC digital channels still frame stuff for potential 4:3 tv owners. Not using the space available on the sides for information, causing the main area of the screen to be unnecessarily cluttered. When they eventually go HD, will those channels only be available to people with HD sets? i.e. will they be framed for 16:9 only, making proper use of the availalbe space? Do you think there will also be a time where the BBC (and others) will start to use the 16:9 space 'properly' even on standard digital? At some point the number of viewers with 16:9 sets will outnumber 4:3. And 4:3 owners can always use letterbox mode to see the full picture.
