Well, basically I'm getting a new TV, my parents say 300 quid is the most they will pay. I wan't the best quality of HD I can get. I've looked around but really I don't know what to look for. So if you can point out or give me links to TV's you recommend or what I should look for, i'd be very grateful :smashin:

you should really go to the LCD section mate.
more experienced people willing to help you there.
but from experience of buying my own. you wont even find a "decent" brand 23" for less than £300. sure you can get other brands. but tbh, i think its better to wait for a bigger budget and get something you know is a good buy rather than a dodgy TV people will question you bought from

As the others have said, you'll struggle to get a decent HDTV of any size for £300. You should definately try and add some money yourself. Another £200 and you'll find a lot more available.

yeah, lots of really helpful guys in the LCD section.
I bought a Mirai DTL-527V200 27" for £350, and its great! There's a massive thread about the Mirai's in the LCD section, definitely worth a look :smashin:

As said before save your money as the prices will come down as you save and buy something decent and it will probably last until you leave home!

like the other guys have said, just save up a bit more money and you will open up a much wider range of tvs, much better than settling.

can't go wrong with mirai as a budget HD lcd. I have the 32 inch and its ace.
I suggest you jump over to the LCD section and see what TVs get the best reviews.

Having owned samsungs and now the mirai, for pure Xbox action, the Mirai is no worse than the best samsung I owned (an M51B). The standard freeview signal is not much different, although the samsung probably edged it on that front.

I wouldn't listen to the 'brand snobs' if i were you, 'cause you'd be missing out big time....

You can pick up a 19" wide screen monitor for approx 200 quid. Of course you'll need seperate speakers though.
