Im looking to buy a 42" high definition ready plasma Tv. As id like to watch hi def sky when it eventually comes out.
Ive seen the panasonic pv500 which looks good but i dont really want to spend 2500.
What other high def ready models could i get for a cheaper price?
    Any help grateful

    Thanks

If you want hi-def then the PV500 should be the only choice for around £2300...

if there are no hdtv ready plasma screens in the 1000-2000 range. As the pv500 has just come out and i cant even use hdtv till it is launched, wouldnt it be better to buy a 42" standard plasma for say just over a 1000 and then in a years time buy the pv500 for less? say it would have gone down to 1500? then you would get 2 plasma televisions for the same money

it all depends on if your criteria to buy is simply the presence of HD usability or not.

I think for a lot of the prospective PV500 buyers (of which im one) it will also depend on SD Picture Quality just as much.

For me, if the PV500 has a significantly better picture than the PE50 for SD then i'll buy one, if it doesnt then I'll be happy with a PE50 and buy a HD set in 2-3 years time.
