There seems to be differing statements on whether you can pair a new HD box with a previous sky + viewing card and not take out the hd sub.

Some are saying that this can be done while others are indicating that sky are refusing to pair the card to a hd box without the subs being taken.

Personally i would have thought that sky would have been happy to pair the card as you are not asking them to provide something for nothing ie no sky HD content until you do decide to take out the sub.

What is the difinative answer, do they pair the boxes without the sub or not, experiences please.

    Process:

Phone up sky tell them you have replaced your sky box with a new box. tell them you want to pair the card with your new box but don't want hd yet. Job done. Why would they refuse? (I've done this, sky HD box cost £150 from midsat, replacing version 1 sky plus box, pay £10 per month for multiroom)
