I was pleasantly surprised when I first used a Panasonic DMRE100 as it automatically names off-air recordings from terrestrial TV with the name of the programme from the details given by Teletext together with the channel and time.

Do the newer Panasonics do this as well and do any other recorders by other manufacturers do this?

I would imagine they do, but it's annoying that it doesn't record such info from DTV recordings. You would think it possibe and even easier with digital recordings.

THe earlier hs2, and presumably the dvd only panasonic recorders also do this, but it is a bit hit and miss as to whether it is correct or makes sense. Personally I always name the recording in the timer set up to get the name I want
