We kind of covered this, in a small way, in another thread. But having had the rare opportunity to read the 'usual' magazines coverage of the recently launched 'HD Ready' logo, no editor has mentioned that these new 'wonder sets' only have one HDMI socket. Am I the only one who cannot fathom these magazines singing the praises of both HDMI DVD players and 'HD Ready' plasmas, in the same magazine, whilst I wonder how to plug Sky HD into a plasma if I already have a DVD player stuffed into the HDMI socket? I spoke to Pioneer about this a couple of weeks ago, who seemed to suggest that their plasmas would ship, at some point, with 2 HDMI sockets; as they do in the USA. Gives rise to a few questions: With the recent explosion in HDMI does anyone know if Sky are considering having an HDMI pass-thru on the new STB? Is it possible to daisy-chain HDMI as you can with i-link? (I can find no mention of it) Are there any affordable HDMI switchers? (not that I covet yet-another-box) Do any new plasmas have more than one HDMI socket? Am I the only one putting off a plasma purchse until a more reasonable number of HDMIs are included? Regards to all.
