HD Panel - money no object! - recomendations

hi

my father in law has some cash (read lots) and wants to buy a plasma. ive not kept up to date since i brought my 42" Panny 4 years ago! so need some advice

he wants 60" +

anything up to 10K for budget

recomendations and why please.

Panasonic 65" would be a good bet if he likes the image yours gives.
 
Sony KDE-P61MRX1.

Even if it didn't switch on (cue MAW?).

Scaler not necessary IMHO.
 
It looks nothing like the NEC panel or Pioneer panel though MAW - panel driver, video processing and scaling are all unique and the best on any consumer tv.

Have you honestly seen it properly? It's on display in quite a few places, at least two in London, displaying Freeview sans scaler. "Nasty" isn't the usual reaction, even from just a few feet away.
 
Well we agree there! It's certainly worse than the Sony!! I still wouldn't. I have seen it, even at a Sony HQ with HD, it was in my view, plain nasty.
