Hi, I am considering buying the Panny TH42PV500 but I was wondering if it is futureproof as HD progresses. As it only has one HDMI connection I assume I will need to connect the new Sky HD box to this input but I was wondering that if I purchase a HD compatable DVD player in the future then can you still get HD definition through Component or RGB input or does it also need to be connected to a HDMI/DVI input in which case maybe I should consider the Hitachi 42PD7200 which has both a HDMI & DVI input? :lease:

I believe the first SKY HD boxes will have component, so you could use that for SKY and the HDMI for DVD

The question then is will the next gen SKY boxes have component??
Your guess is as good as anyone elses.
UkDans suggestion is good too :smashin:

    EDIT:

I forgot about HDCP so it will probably mean you will have to go through the HDMI at some stage.

Onkyo will have a mid priced HDMI switching amp in the autumn. I guess they will not be alone.
