    I'd be sceptical about how good the scaler is for that price, especially when you factor in the cost of the HDD. Which TV would you be using it with? If it's a HDTV it's own scaler is probably better.

    Humax PVR-9200T is popular too. Comes in at £100 cheaper than the evesham and will give as good a picture IMO. Do a Google/Froogle on it.;)

    Your HDTV will automatically upscale all inputs to the panel's resolution anyway. Only reason to use an external upscaler is if it does a better job - doubtful this evesham unit would (and unless your TV is 1920*1080 native then it would have to scale it again anyway).
