Looks like Toshiba is starting the pre-launch demos of HD DVD:
Toshiba's HD DVD player will be displayed and demonstrated for the first time to consumers anywhere at a retail location in the United States.

Bjorn Dybdahl of Bjorn's Audio Video says, "This is an extremely exciting event for Toshiba and Bjorn's. Being able to show consumers the tremendous potential of HD DVD and to see their reactions is something we have been looking forward to."

This is the first in a series of retail demonstrations around the country that will allow consumers to experience HD DVD's superior image quality on a large, Toshiba 1080p high-definition projection TV, and to see the difference HD DVD will bring to home entertainment.
...apparently this demo, which happened last Thursday, is being rolled out across the USA. Hopefully it will give many of us a chance to see the new format in action.
