As long as you stay under £18 before P&P you should be okay. I've ordered stuff below that price and above. Everytime it's below it's fine and only once out of several times its been above I haven't got stung by customs - so beware!

It's also worth noting that for those that signed up for the 10%-off promotion in late 2006, it still seems to be working! :smashin:

Are you certain it's £18 before p&p? I've been trying to find something concrete on the gov website but it's impossible to find anything on there!

Thanks, just found that myself :). Doesn't mention shipping on there at all, I guess we're only charged on it when the value of goods is over £18..

$8.97 shipping for two discs - not cheap are they! Going to risk Fifth Element and Meaning of Life in the same shipment, seeing as they're $29.48 together that *should* be fine.. :)

Anyone know what price Amazon prints on the package though?

For example if I buy Casino Royale for $19.49 that's definately under £18 before postage but when I read the 3 for 2 thread Amazon didn't print the discounted price and printed the full price. So even though I'm paying $19.49 for Casino Royale Amazon prints $38.96 i.e. over limit and I get stung... speaking hypothetically of course.

    Can anyone confirm this?

The "declared value" problem(s) arise during a "get one free" promotion, either BOGOF or 3 for 2 etc. Amazon don't put the total paid on the package but total amount, including "free" item(s). So, if you buy 2 @ $20 "BOGOF", eventhough you'd pay just $20 (+ postage), Amazon will mark the package as $40 (+ postage).

This sale shouldn't be a problem as there are no "free" discs, they are just reduced in price. So, 2x $15 Blurays will have the package marked as $30 (+postage).

    Wow - $14.99 equates to £7.59 as of 13/12/08 - Bargain.

Surely you won't get stung if you place several seperate orders ? Amazon are not going to bulk them together - are they ?

Aren't blu ray's region coded? Looks like a bargain if they'll work on UK players, specifically PS3's.

Those are bargains but you should check out the AVS Forum for comments on the Traffic disc, supposed to be an upconvert of SD DVD, not genuine hi-definition. Which is a shame because I'm waiting to see a good Traffic disc on
HD-DVD and £8 would have been a great price and a good replacement for my Criterion discs. I bought Jarhead on HD-DVD in 2006 for £20 in HMV, it looks great and you've got a good price there !

easy enough to avoid that. Just create loads of seperate addresses in your account, for instance i have one for MR DOYLE, MR M DOYLE, MARC DOYLE etc to ensure everything i want to get shipped seperately, gets shipped seperately

Seen good reviews of the picture quality: (http://hddvd.highdefdigest.com/traffic.html)

It is a tricky one as how is the picture meant to look i.e. intentionally grainy/ washed out/saturated in parts?

Came to $38 delivered. Seen a few posts saying Amazon put the full value of the discs - not the offer price - on the package but any charges can be claimed back from customs and the PO on the price you paid - hassle but worth the chance on this price.

I got Jarhead from Lovefilm last week - pic quality was amazing

I was stung by HMRC for £13.10 for the Bourne Trilogy at Christmas, I didn't mind as they had already refunded me as it took 5 weeks to arrive. I didn't ask to be refunded they just did it upon an email asking where they were!
