HD Audio HTPC

What are my options for outputing HD audio from an HTPC.

As far as I'm aware for decoding true hd and dts-ma the only option is the asus xonar HDAV.

Is there not however a cheaper alternative that simply outputs hd audio bitstream which my Amp can then decode?
