HD and Football First

Can anybody explain why recorded highlights of matches broadcast live in HD, are always re-transmitted in Football First as SD on a HD channel

I imagine it's a question of bandwidth. HD contains four times as much data as SD, so if you're feeding seven or eight match options down a single channel, the required bandwidth must be enormous. That's just me guessing, mind you. If I'm barking up the wrong tree, someone will come along and put me right.

Good idea, I have contacted them today and am awaiting a reply, I will post their comments.

While you're at it, tell them to get rid of Ed Chamberlain and bring back Clare Tomlinson too!
