    Hmmm,

this could get controversial. I was in my local audio shop and having a conversation with one of the shop assitants. I was talking to him about HC / Music speakers and he said that it was all a load of b*llocks having speakers designed for music or speakers designed for HC. Basically he said that if they can reproduce all the sounds needed for one, then they'd be fine for the other as well. What do people think of this??

The reason I ask this is because Im still unsure as to whether or not to buy "Home Cinema" speakers for normal musical ones. The shop assistant is obviously keen for me to spend lots of cash on "hifi" speakers but Im unsure. Is there really a difference between speakers designed for HC and ones for music??

    Thanks

    Cod theif,
I have to refer to Jeff our moderator who rightly said good speakers should be good for everything.

My speakers are good all rounders. My two year old thinks that they are excellent for cartoons and managed to "run them in" within a day and my wife thinks that they are brilliant for soaps.

Having only had them a few weeks I am hoping that the family might go away for a few days so that I can watch a DVD to see if they are any good for films as well.

I only moderate the HCPC and Video Processor forums, here I'm just a regular punter.

I'm not convinced that using regular Hifi speakers in a HC setup is a good idea. I have never tried it though. I'm more inclined to go for HC speakers (a matching set) that also do a good job with music.
