Question HbbTV Requirements

I've been searching the internet with no definite answer. So if someone knows more I'd be thankful for info.

Does HbbTV have some hardware requirements or is it just sofware based thing? For example, if I have TV that supports HbbTV 1.0/1.5 is it possible that manufacturer could update software so that it would support HbbTV 2.x?

Yeah. But does this standard have some hardware requirements or is it entirely based on software running on HTML5?
