HAWK THE HUNTER will be the new film based on Terry Marcel's 1980's movie, he will be back in the director's chair again.

Being made by Jinga Films with british actor Tom Hardy (below), replacing actor John Terry (Jack Shephard's dad on 'Lost' TV series). Producer Andrew Growcock of Westwood Productions has the script out to several stars to play Hawks' nemesis, Voltan (played by Jack Palance in HAWK THE SLAYER). The action will be brought up to date with a $2m CGI budget from FX company Yard Media in Ireland.

What do you say? The original was almost good. The remake/sequel maybe far better.

    Cheers

In many respects it was terrible but it had it's moments. I saw it as an adult. I gather you may have been a bit younger. That will have made a big difference.

    All the very best

I always get this and Krull confused, what's the one with the Cyclops and the castle that keeps 'jumping'?

I think that was Krull. Slayer had Bernard Bresslaw playing a "giant" with no sfx of any type to make him appear taller than he was in real life.

I saw Hawk the Slayer a couple of times as a kid when it was on late night television and I should have been asleep.

I really enjoyed it back then but looking at the trailer now it looks lame. :D

Sill I like Sword and Sorcery films so another one is fine by me.

I wonder if everytime Hawk comes on screen it will play the flute music like the first.Loved it though but it felt like a bbc film and not something that could ever transfer well even with the big budget cg that today can offer.

Forgot this still existed, well Tom Hardy is no longer attached. No surprise.

Terry Marcel the original director of the 1980 fantasy film Hawk The Slayer will be starting a Kickstarter campaign with 2000AD publishers Rebellion, for Hawk The Hunter at the end of August at Frightfest.

Rick Wakeman will be providing the soundtrack.

The aim to create a sequel film which then leads into a new TV series, Hawk The Destroyer.
