I want to find out if there is more than just a few people with certain models of TV/projector who are having HDMI problems with SkyHD, the sort of problems that result in "HDMI mode not supported" or similar errors or just your screen going blank and in both cases having to power off/change channels on either the HD box or display.

I can't use HDMI reliably with either my Panasonic AX100 projector or Samsung 42Q7HD plasma. Do you have problems too? If so, please post the model of projector/TV that gives problems.

I sometimes have the problem with a Hitachi 42PD6600A Plasma, can be OK for days then will happen 6 times in one night. Can happen on HD, SD, live and playback of recorded material.

My screen went blank a few times when the box was set to 1080i and I was watching an SD programme. I prefer AUTO anyway and it seems to behave on that. I have had the HDCP error once but unplugging and plugging back in the HDMI cable sorted it.

Panasonic PV500 plasma.

Very very occasionally the picture on my Philips 32PF9830 (connected by HDMI) is very bright on HD box soft switch on (via remote). Switching the HD box on/off with the remote cures it.

That's odd because it worked perfectly on the AX100 I had, and it works perfectly on my 42PHD8 and Sanyo Z5 that I now have.

Thanks, that's just the kind of thing I'm after. Goes to show that it may be a problem with my HD box perhaps since it messes with both the PJ and the TV. How long was your cable?

Is the drive on the left hand side of the sky unit? Thats where mine gets hot - I'd consider swapping out the drive just to stop the overheating.

Mine has been installed for a week now, overall I am very impressed with the PQ on both SD and HD, no power cycles, no issues with HDMI, the only small niggle I have is the Audio dropouts when watching football in HD
