Going to purhcase something along the line of B&W's 703 or 803 for a surround setup for a 'cosy room' but have always liked black speakers (especially black gloss) rather than the wooden finishes. I understand that B&W dont do a black gloss finish and I think that the wooden finishes probably look richer but was wondering if any of you guys out there have black B&W speakers, and indeed if you have would you mind posting a few good pictures of them ? I certainly would appreciate it !

    Thanks in advance !

    Ricky !

If you want photos go to B&Ws website or do a search on google images :)

Personally I've always thought black ash speakers look cheaper than their wood finish counterparts, but each to their own :) (the 800 series still do look nice though even in black).

Yup I have blask ash speakers and always have bought black as it never really goes out of fashion and blends in anywhere. I think wooden speakers can look great in the right environment, takes more careful matching though!

I have always done exactly the same. I think the wood finishes look better than the black in a carpeted room, but are a problem if you have got a wood floor which is a different colour.

b&w do wood finishes and after seeing all there standard finishes I opted for the cherry as it looked much better than any of the others. My local seven oaks has some Monsitor Audio GS20's for sale in Piano Black Gloss and they look superb in that finish but all the b&w 7 and 8 series speakers are black ash which if you like then go for it

Not the same series but B&W, havent got them any more, sold em for a set of light oak GS10s, not a fan of the black ash finish, they looked very old school and quite cheap IMHO
