    Again I'm saying no.

Its the bundle that is offering this deal. Just like bundles have for years. A little incentive for getting them.

COD for £30 on digital download. No chance.

But can I just say that if by some miracle thats the price MS charge for a brand new digital game (AAA) on release then i will happily go fully digital next gen.

Agreed. No way we can use the cost of a bundle to speculate at the cost of DDs though. Apples and pears.

I imagine that it's probably not worth continuing the discussion considering the way that the last one went, but from my point of view the price of a bundle doesn't allow you to make any statement regarding the cost of digital downloads.

It's never been possible to infer the cost of physical retail copies based on any bundles released for previous console generations so I'm not sure why the assumption here is that you can do it for DD using the XBO bundles. All you do know is that by buying a bundle you will get a saving on buying the console and items separately, however where the saving comes from is only known to MS/Sony and doesn't relate to the standalone price.

Until the Xbox store prices are actually released this type of thread will just be a rampent sea of speculation which I suspect will ultimately end with Guns_LotsOfGuns ban hammer falling.

A bundle (historically) is a way of getting a number of items at a cheaper price than buying them individually.

I do not believe for one moment that a DD price for COD will be anything less than £50, maybe it would have been cheaper when the XBox had its DRM but only maybe ... now? no chance.

I do think that prices will come down quicker for DD over time rather than stay at the same price like has happened with this generation but start low compared to retail? not a chance.

I'm also in the no camp. Zt put it perfectly in the last thread. A bundle always offers you a discount for buying more products. That is all that is happening here. However the discount offered in this bundle is quite high compared to the discounts bundles usually offer. I may be wrong in that tho.

i don't know why someone from M$ doesn't just come out and give the prices for both DD and retail copies, just to clear up arguments about it.

    No.

I don't really see where the £30 conclusion has come from either.

Did you read the original thread?

There's an official CoD bundle on Game's website for £459.99, which includes an XB1 and a DD of CoD.

Being that the console is £429.99, that makes an extra £30 for the DD of CoD.

Because from past experience they seem to prefer to say less and let everyone argue the toss until cyber punches are thrown :rotfl:

And have you actually read and understood the responses you've been given? :suicide:

In the current gen bundles are cheaper than buying the console and games separately because they are all about getting people to buy into the platform - you can't subtract the price of a console from a current bundle to get the standalone retail price price of the game now (physical retail copy or DD) so why you are trying to make that assumption for the next gen is not clear.

    I know.

The point I was trying to answer was how did I arrive at £30 for this CoD bundle.

No. I just posted this in a Sony thread and think it's a great idea!

    Thoughts?

Come on now. Jokes aside. You gotta wonder what the digital ecosystem would have been like had they stuck to their "Guns"

    Well you're no fun.

I hope at least this is a sign of things to come (the download card that is (if this works like the Fifa box does)). Means that retailers selling keys to unlock digital games is on the horizon. Which can only mean good things for the future.

But for £429.99 you also get FIFA. So it's £30 and giving up FIFA for the DD of CoD. Which basically means we know nothing.

I'm no pundit that you can just shoot your metaphorical jibes at! Your gun shoots blanks anyways... I'm immune!

You come at me with your guns, I come at you with tigers... they're great!

    edit: [IMG]

And, yes, I know that's not a tiger... but then I couldn't say "they're great" like Tony T!" (doesn't make sense now that Guns shot down my other pic)

EDIT 2: Filter friendly img added!

Det, I can't work out if you're being sarcastic or if you actually want a DD system as MS were originally proposing. Since 96% of Americans do not know what sarcasm is, I'm choosing to believe you are being serious. :D

    I think I'm part of the 4% :D

    But I'm half serious.

I would like to have seen what would have been accomplished with how they were suggesting it. I do think it was too restrictive tho.

If I were in their shoes I would have adopted the steam method. Let retailers sell Live keys and download off their servers so everyone gets a piece of the pie. Tho with their own developers I think all transactions should be done through their own store so they get all the revenue through those and they can keep investing in new studios and new IPS. Tho I'm sure that model would be riddled with issues.

    So I don't know.

I still chuckle at the idea of this topic...

Price minus rrp does not equal price of extra content. They are called bundles for a reason. Otherwise they'd be called pre filled checkout carts or something else to indicate that buy a xbone and cod separately is the same price.

No one is talking about price minus RRP.

What we're talking about is a £460 bundle for an XB1, that comes with a download for CoD.

Now, you're going to pay £430 for an XB1 on it's own, or £460 with CoD - FACT.

Whatever way you look at it, you are paying £30 for CoD.

Now, I personally don't think £30 is that far from what the prices for DD will be.

No box, no disk, no manual, no resale value, the price has got to be in the £30s to be realistic for people to go for it over the disk version.

As no one here knows, it's all conjecture and discussion, but anyone that pitches up and says "No, that's definitely not it" is talking out of there arse and clearly doesn't understand how DISCUSSION forums work.

I don't know, you don't know, no one here knows, but half (maybe more!) of the fun is the banter & conjecture, so,lets just sit back and enjoy that shall we!? :smashin:
