Is it worth getting into as the show was cancelled after a season?

I enjoyed the pilot/1st epidode. It was done fairly well and was quite dark. I'll probably watch a few more to see how it goes.
A lot of the series I've been enjoying seem to be being cancelled left right and centre. Farscape, Buffy, Firefly, Dark Angel are just the ones that spring to mind. Fair enough if the show has reached a conclusion and has exhausted all of it's plot lines and charactuer development and has nowhere else to go. Farscape I felt was treated terribly and the last few episodes I felt were rushed and didin't give complete closure to all of the plot lines and charactuers. I can understand them canning programes that are not being watched or don't work but I thought Farscape, Dark Angel and the like were quite established and have fairly good ratings.Do the producers ever ask for feed back from their customer/audiance before deciding to axe shows?

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Hi
I think with the introduction of satellite and cable tv, more and more programmes are cancelled due to the saturated viewing figures.

People who longer watch the same programmes or stick to same channels. Say for instance there where only 5 channels, the viewing public is divided quite nicely, but with 40 channels to choose from, people do not have the same staying power to watch a show over a year, and the numbers of people watching primetime programmes is far less nowdays. Theres to much choice. Which, for series producers is a bad thing.

With say 8 peole in your office how many would have seen haunted ?, most people i know with sky tv seem to watch the main 4 channels.

A lot of the successful programs that were originally shown on sky/sattelite find there way onto terestrial tv (like farscape) don't these ratings and the marketability on dvd and the sales throughout the world equate to the shows not making a loss. Why o Why should a perfectly good show with a fairly large fan base be axed?
It just makes me angry that intelligent/original/quality programs seem not to get a fair airing whereas the likes of big brother/friends/footballers wives and the like seem to be on all the time and repeated constantly.

i thought haunted was great, looked forward to watching it and was not dissapointed,i think it got cancelled in the us,its proberly because its too dark and moody for the usa at the moment,i loved the feel of it and the private eye main character reminded me of deckard in the way he dressed and looked, hope sky have the whole series to show now.

I though straight away Spoiler that the janitor would have a major part to play as I know he is a well know actor and was to good to have a throw away part. ;)
