I say bring on the remastered DTS 6.1 version!
Id say yes lots of better movies
Barbarian was good but that Destroyer nonsense on last night was terrible.
but yes there have been MUCH better films... sorry.
Conan is indeed an excellent film. It's got that 'epic' aura about it, and one of the best scores ever...
Conan The Barbarian's not a movie.... it's a way of life.
Arnie's never been better (in my humble estimations)
Crom laughs at you unbelievers from his mountaintop
I liked him better in the original "Terminator" movie.
I'd rather answer the above question instead.
Thats too easy though squirrel there are so many bad films, ive just looked at your dvds again, you seem to have most of them
Ok. so it will never make the imdb top 250 - so what.
I think arnie was never better than in that movie, all muscle, alot of gore, lots of beautiful naked woman, not to mention the best musical score for any moive and very little dialogue...thats beats the terminator (and commando) on at least the nudity and musical score level
oh, and please don't mention that destroyer movie in this thread again
Crikey, you're not wrong. The boy deity's obviously addicted
Seems to horde crap movies the way most squirrels hide their nuts
So long as I like them, that's all that matters
So in all seriousness now, if Conan is Camlogan's favourite movie of all time, then so be it
Personally, I hated it and I think it's one of Arnie's worst
if I haddn't seen 'Micky Blue Eyes' on that list of yours (just kidding)
hehe, no worries - each to their own...just trying to see if I was the only conan the barbarian fan around here.
Still, if you saw it on my sim2....
I think Mickey Blue Eyes is hilarious, particularly the scene in the Chinese restaurant. One of the very few decent films Hugh Grant has made
acording to channel 4
So did I
Although I have a few of his films, I generally find Arnie to be rubbish.
I always thought Mickey was ok too, only watched it once though mind.
Your not alone, one Conan devoted fan here. Never get bored of watching it, it rocks. The film is good all the way through and the cast list could not have been better, IMHO.
Has every one forgoten Red Sonja?
I was trying too
Conan for sale here:
did you just set that up now. After all the interest from the thread.
Indeed I did - saw the opportunity and seized it .
Fair play to you. Its all supply and demand
Thats terrible Groundy. Will you not get into trouble for trading outside of the trading bit?
And folks it's only £6.00. Bargin
You've got me all worried now .
Just make sure that the actual trading process is restricted to the right area!
I love the score to Conan - Basil Poledouris, one of my fave composers. Ripped off by Jerry Goldsmith (my other fave composer) for Total Recall.
So Groundy - what did you actually think of Colon the Barbarian then? And be honest!
I thought it was the best film ever made - I actually have 7 copies of it - one for every day of the week. However, I have a new Sunday film now so can afford to sell one .
Wouldn't call it the best film ever, but sure do love it.
Have had it on laserdisc for many years and just got the special edition on DVD. Don't think the added scenes does much for the movie, but it's wonderful to finally hear the spectacular score in stereo (or 5.1 if you like). The soundtrack on the laserdisc was in mono.
If anyone fancies getting their own version of one of the swords used in the movie, take a look here:
Be sure to bring a fat wallet though....
