Battery life seems to be about 2 days as I am hammering it at the mo (loads of installing of apps/mp3s/radio and tomb raider). Quite quick to recharge though.

Radio is great on the train.. and you can use it whilst playing games which is nice. Sound quality in general is excellent. its so loud you hardly need to turn it above minimum..and the built in speaker is very good. Had loads of apps/games for the 7650/3650 running on it as well. I have tried both the doris and opera browsers.. and have been surfing this website from it as well (though only on my tmobile data number as thats part of the tariff. had a quick go on GPRS and that seems (feels) quite a bit quicker) Used the bluetooth for getting all my contacts across from my T610 though I have not tried my headset as it is too old to be supports (first gen motorola). I love the email client and have it setup to connect to my blueyonder acc which works so well even on the data connection(rather then GPRS) not tried the network features of the games yet though.

Screen is nice and clear.. execellent quality.. and you do not notice the odd ratio after a few minutes.. too busy playing TR :)
It has also been proven that the gage will take 256/512 MB MMC cards as well (above the official max of 128MB) You can even record music to it as AAC format by connecting a cable to a external cd/md player for example. OS is very good.. and I have tried both symbian and Java progs with no issues (most of the apps I have installed to the MMC card rather than the onboard RAM).

You get the cabled headset/USB cable/normal headphone convertor (to use your own) and some nokia software in the box.. basically u get loads for your money :)

Make sure u get the free copy they have bundled in the box (from Tmobile) I heard it was in the first 6500 boxes (so u should not have any issues getting one :) )

P.S the ngage is unbadged in the box and is unlocked :)

I tried my orange sim in it as well.. Also make sure u download the free software FExplorer.. excellent prog which lets u nose around the phone and even check out RAM/ROM sections (also handy for installing Java progs you have loaded rather than downloaded over the air :)

    Cheers

    Hi Matt,

You seem to be getting round yours with no problem.

I'm having problems getting the computer to recognise mine via the USB cable. Gonna try bluetooth on laptop tonight.

Any thoughts regarding what might be happening the PC recognises the partners p800 but insist there is no phone attached with mine.

BTW there seems to be a lot of people slagging the N-Gage off. I'm very much enjoying mine for what it is - A one box solution!

I can carry it round and get PDA, phone, music and games from one thing. It's not going to be the best at one particular feature. When serious about music I've got Naim Hi-fi. When I want to play a serious game I've ps2, xbox, pc and seperates home cinema.

When I'm out I don't want to carry 5 different items just one fun product.

    Enjoy

    Martin M

    What OS are u using?

All I do is plug the Ngage into the usb cable (which is already in the pc) and XP see a device and adds another drive letter.. I have not used the pc suite once as I do not have a BT module on the laptop..

Do you have a MMC card in at the time? Maybe it does not like the card.. have u tried formatting it with the ngage?

    Cheers

    Matt

P.S completely agree.. its excellent for my train journeys :)

    Hi Matt,

    I'm on XP also.

Reading through the manual I think it's due to the memory card - i.e I haven't got one yet and it seems i need a minimum amount of space.

Anyhow I'm of to the states next week and shall have a look and see how much they are over there.

Sonic arrived yesterday and has brought back a few memories!

yeah you cannot copy from the PC to the internal memory.. it must have a mmc card in the ngage.. also make sure u download fexplorer a free app.. execellent file manager utility.. allows u to install java apps when you have downloaded them rather than over the air!

    Cheers

I got mine yesterday, still playing with it now. Im having a few probelms thoughmaybe you guys can help.

I dont know howto transfer stuff, say images for example to set as a wallpapper for example. MP3's are fine I worked that one out.

Ive also downloaded a couple of apps from the net but cant find any info about installing them.

Also setting up the email on the phone????? Cant work that out.

Apart from my total stupidity not enabling me to use it to its potential, it is wicked. ordered 2 MMC cards today, 1 x 128 and 1 x 512MB, so ill be transfering a fair bit of music when they come.

    Heres the link for fexplorer...

    http://users.skynet.be/domi/fexplorer.htm

Most important ampp to have imho

Ok as to installing apps.. there is 2 ways.
For sis files (these are symbian apps) copy onto the MMC card and then open up the manager under tools. In there will be the sis file (and any apps u have installed with a little icon to denote phone mem or mmc card).

Highlite the sis file and click options... then pick install. it will then ask where u want to install the app phone mem or card.

On the Ngage u have 16MB RAM, 4MB phone mem (to install stuff too) and your MMC card. The fexplorer app I would install to the phone so you always have it.

The second wayt to install is for Java apps. Normally these would be downloaded over the air and would appear in the apps program under extras. Again you can highlite the app and then install it from there.
If you have downloaded a Java app from the web.. copy it to the MMC card and then fun fexplorer. Find your file, and again through the options (or click on it) it will launch the apps program and you install in the normal way. Again you can install on the phone mem or card.

Lastly what issues are u having for email? I have mine hooked to my blueyonder account so I can download mine and the missus email.. LMK

    Cheers

    Matt

if someone could tell me where and how much to get a couple of 512mb mmc cards it would be much appreciated
