    is there any difference betwen the american version of harry potter and the english version not shore which region to get it the dvd from please help

    Gone for R1 myself, dont know what differences there are between the two though.

    well for a start, the R2 version has the correct title.....which is always a start..!!

    Both have the same extras (from what I can see)

    UK version is out two weeks earlier than the US release and has the correct title IE The Philosophers Stone. (US will be The Sorcerers Stone).

    Take your pick.

    Further to earlier posts.

    The Philosopher/Sorcerers title change is also in the film itself. When any character mentions the stone in the UK version "Philosopher" is said, in the US version the word "Sorcerer" is put in it's place. In essence the two versions are very slightly different.

    This was done because the film producers thought the American public would not know what a philosopher is!.

    The R1 Canadian release also has the correct name.

    unless future gets there disc from canada looks like i will be buying it from R2 thanks for the help
