Harmony Fast startup for Sony Rear Projection Inputs.

Sony rear pro's are odd. They have different ways of turning themselves on. sometimes they turn on in Analogue TV, and sometimes they turn on in Digital TV. I never sussed out why this was happening. But it messes up the input selection. I have the KDF 50E2010.. by the way.

This is what I have finally decided is the best way to starup the sony KDF range, because it doesn't have HDMI commands. And after much fiddling around, it seems that the solution is not all that obvious...

Tell the Harmony that you have buttons for all of its inputs.

Change the Inputs so that...

Pc = right direction
HDMI 1 = right direction
HDMI 2 = right direction (If you have 2)

So to make this clear.. Those inputs do nothing, apart from put the TV into Digital mode.

Right direction puts the tv into its digital input mode.

Now for devices that use HDMI1/2 or PC you add this to the startup sequence..

TV command Add.. Input4
TV command Add.. Input Next... for PC

TV command Add.. Input4
TV Command Add.. Input Next
TV Command Add.. Input Next.. for HDMI 1

TV command Add.. Input4
TV Command Add.. Input Next
TV Command Add.. Input Next
TV Command Add.. Input Next.. for HDMI 2

This will get you to the inputs very quickly.

For all of the other inputs you can use the direct commands. AV1, AV2, Analogue,Digital..etc.

Sounds like a neat idea.

I think it's one of Harmomys better tricks that you can, basically, program the Power & Input buttons as you wish.
