Just unpacking and sorting out new Harmony 785: popped it on its base and it lit up, so i could see it was charging... then it went to black, no sign of any charging symbol. Is this what should happen?!
If so, how long does it take to charge and/or will it illuminate again when fully charged!?
    thanks

I received mine yesterday as well! Assuming you put in the battery casing that was wrapped up separately (stranger things have happened) you should have been able to get some commands to work when attaching the USB to the computer. I found that unless I was downloading the command updates, I could leave the 785 charging on the cradle. Mine took about 6 hours to fully charge. Hope this helps.

Yes, this is completely normal. When you place the Harmony in the cradle, the display and back light go off after a couple of seconds.
