I have had the HK DVD 30 for just under a month now - the video (component ps into Panny6) is awesome and the audio is equally excellent. However....... the box itself is very noisy, audible at 10ft, both transformer hum and the disc reading transport mechanism.

It is particularly noticable when playing mp3 tracks. Instead of moving smoothly from track to track the transport mechansim starts searching rather noisyly for the next track.

Not sure I can live with it...

Has anyone with a HK DVD 30 experienced this as well? Any advice/suggestions welcomed.

Can't say I've noticed any unusual noises from my DVD30 - I sit just a couple of feet from it and can't hear any noise when playing films (I haven't tried any MP3 discs - sorry). If I put my head right up to the machine then I can just hear the disc spinning (as well as getting very strange looks from my wife!)

Sounds like yours might not be as healthy as it should be - maybe try listening to another one in comparison at your dealer?
