Hi,
I am currently looking for a 5.1 surround sound setup for my lounge at home. I have around £450 for receiver and speakers (plus a bit more for cables).
I originally had designs on a Onkyo TXSR508 which I was planning to pair with either Jamo A102 HCS5, Canton Movie 80CX or Tannoy SFX5.1 speakers.
However, I have seen the following for £450 - Yamaha RXV467 and Harman Kardon HKTS 9 in Curry's. To buy separately, the receiver is listed at £270 and the speakers at £330. Is this a good deal, and is it a better combination that either of the above?
Also, I have attached a picture of my lounge and marked where I would have my speakers - would this be an acceptable setup, or would the large open space affect the sound in any way? The red crosses show where we sit when watching films and all speakers would be at approx. head height.
Sorry for all the questions - This is my first foray into home cinema and I want to make sure I'm spending my cash in a worthwhile way!! So any feedback on the above would be greatly received.
Thanks,
Neil
