Harman/Kardon HKTS 16 subwoofer crackling with heavier bass

Hello.

I have a problem with my Harman/Kardon HKTS 16 subwoofer that when I listen bassier song or watch a movie at certain sound level the subwoofer does crackling sounds. It only started happening after the power supply was changed under warranty after it went dead. Before that I could listen music and watch movies way way louder without loosing any bass. Speakers are driven by Denon AVR-x540BT but it shouldn't matter since the bass speaker uses its own power.

Any suggestions? Anything to improve the sound on it?

After a year still the same issue.

Loud music or good movie experience is ruined by that subwoofer that just can't handle it anymore for some reason.

Any ideas?

It`s not that suprising as you have what we call a lifestyle system. There is no requirement to match speakers and sub so you are free to look new one as repairing the HK sub is quite pointless unless you would have some friend to do it cheaply. Sadly most of the cheap ones have either poor reliability an/or they will sound poor.
